A Landmark R&D Initiative

The AIMEC project — Autonomous Intelligence for Mobility and Edge Computing — is a multi-year flagship research and innovation programme running from September 2026 through December 2030.

Operating within the IPCEI framework, AIMEC integrates sovereign AI reasoning, edge-native inference, and real-world validation to create next-generation autonomous mobility infrastructure for Europe.

Every component is designed to comply with the EU AI Act and European digital sovereignty requirements — ensuring transparency, accountability, and safety at every layer of the stack.
